Postponement of the Joint XXIV IGC and XI IRC Congress from October 2020 to October 2021.

The National Organizing Committee, together with the International Grassland and International Rangeland Organizing Committees, would like to express sincere thanks for the great interest and support you have shown towards the Joint XXIV IGC and XI IRC Congress. More than 1000 abstracts have been received and reviewed and process of full paper submission is on-going.

However, based on the current worldwide situation with Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic and measures taken by many countries to minimize the effects of this virus, the National Organizing Committee, in consultation with the International Organizing Committees has decided to postpone the joint XXIV IGC and XI IRC Congress by a period of one year. This difficult decision has been taken after consideration of all available information from the WHO and various country ministries of health, and the international travel bans, and in some cases complete lock down. Registration to the Joint XXIV IGC and XI IRC Congress remains open.

The Congress is now scheduled for 23rd to 29th October 2021 at the same venueThe Kenyatta International Convention Centre, Nairobi Kenya.

The National Organizing Committee would like to clarify the following:

  • All abstracts which have been accepted will continue to be processed, and full paper submission process will continue to take place. The new deadline for full paper submission is extended to January 31st, 2021.
  • For those who have already paid for registration/tours, their payments will remain valid until we hold the congress.
  • Concerning accommodation, delegates are advised to contact the hotels directly for alternative arrangements as per the respective hotel's policy.

The Organizing Committee of The Joint XXIV International Grassland and XI International Rangeland Congress, on behalf of the Ministry of Agriculture , Livestock, Fisheries and Irrigation, the Animal Production Society of Kenya and Kenya Agricultural and Livestock Research Organization, cordially invites you to participate in the XXIV – IGC and XI-IRC joint Congress from October 23 to 29, 2021 at KICC, Nairobi Kenya.

The hosting of the first-ever joint congress in Africa is significant, as this region offers diverse and unique tropical savanna ecosystems, which are home to some of the most economically important grasses in the world and mesmerizing wildlife. This momentous event will highlight high tech (including ICT) technologies and enable the scientific community to deliberate on various advances made in the field of grassland and rangeland science and management.
