TOURS INFORMATION

Pre-Congress Tours

Back Home

Three Pre-Congress Tours are available to delegates attending the congress. Delegates can choose from tours of threefive and nine days in length.

All Pre-Congress Tours depart from Nairobi Town and end on Friday, October 23rd, two days before the Congress officially opens.  The tours are designed to provide delegates with a view of the beautiful landscape, rangelands, wildlands, research programs and history of the Kenyan region.

For the duration of each tour, there will be tour guides who are knowledgeable on Kenyan grassland and rangeland resources, livestock production systems and prairie landscapes. At most stops on the tours, the guides will be joined by other experts from the area being visited. This will ensure that you will receive the most comprehensive information on what you will see on the tour.

The prices of the tours will cover the costs of accommodation, transportation, entry fees into parks and museums, an information booklet and meals (breakfast and lunches). Please note that delegates will be required to cater for their evening meals (dinner). All three pre-congress tours will depart from a central place in the morning in time for the different tours. At the end of each tour, however, delegates will be dropped at any of their respective hotels.

Mid-Congress Tours

On Wednesday of the congress week registered delegates (including student and accompanying persons) will be able to go on one of the thirteen different tours. All tours will depart from Nairobi at a central place and all delegates will be bused back to Nairobi for the cultural night, including dinner, at The Bomas of Kenya on October 28th at the end of each mid-congress tour.

When registering for the Congress, you will select which Mid-Congress Tour you want to be on. We advise that you register early if there is a particular tour that you want to be on.
